WindSpider’s Blade Tool is a groundbreaking innovation that revolutionizes blade installation and maintenance, delivering unmatched control and efficiency. The solution enables safer, faster, and more cost-effective offshore wind operations.
In cooperation with ENABL AS, WindSpider is carrying out a Concept Study to evaluate the feasibility of the blade handling tool for offshore wind turbine installation and maintenance. The scope includes functional analysis, concept development, risk assessment, and structural validation to ensure suitability with industry requirements and feasibility of the concept.
In a recent workshop, WindSpider and ENABL AS, worked together, shaping a requirement specification for an Offshore Blade Yolk – a concept that we believe will enable vertical blade installation and blade exchange offshore. The workshop was filled with inspiring and creative cooperation, ensuring that the WindSpider's vision is supported by practical requirements, resulting in a solid solution.
The fusion, like the one of WindSpider’s innovative approach and ENABL’s experience, is a vital part of the future offshore wind solutions and much wanted progress, that will in turn take us closer to the green energy transition.
We are looking forward to further cooperation with ENABL, and excited for the findings of the study, which will bring us a step closer to bringing the innovative WindSpider solution to the wind industry.
About WindSpider
WindSpider is offering an innovative lifting solution for installation and major component replacement of wind turbines, onshore and offshore. The self-erecting solution, which uses the turbine tower as support, has several attractive features, including eliminating relative motion between crane and wind turbine, no turbine weight or height restrictions, compatibility with floating vessels and barges, and good operability at windy sites. With an effective lifting capacity of +1500 metric tons, WindSpider solves some of the biggest issues in the wind industry and is prepared for the next generations of wind turbines at a substantially lower cost.
